mark
In case of a natural disaster, specifically an earthquake or tsunami, please take note of the following information.

In the case of an earthquake having an intensity of 4.0 or higher, Ise City will immediately make a public announcement to notify residents and visitors of the current situation and will provide people with any necessary arrangements or instructions.

In the event of a tsunami warning, Ise City will immediately make a public announcement to notify residents and visitors of the current situation and will provide people with any necessary arrangements or instructions.

Please note; all Ise City public address announcements are made in Japanese. If you cannot understand Japanese, please ask someone around you if they can assist you in English. If this is not possible, please use your portable phone or find a public phone near you to call the Ise City Tourist Information Office at 0596-28-3705. The tourist information office will relay any necessary information in English.

Ise City is positioned on a narrow plain between the ocean to the north and the mountains to the south. In the event of a tsunami alert within Ise City, please proceed to an emergency shelter (please see Ise City area maps) or in the event there are no emergency shelters near you, please move southward toward higher ground. If you cannot establish your location within the city, please remain calm and look at your surroundings. From most places in Ise City, the mountain chain to the south is clearly identifiable.

In the event a tsunami alert is issued while you are in the Futami area, please move toward Mount Otonashi to the south of the city (please refer to MapE-3B).

Emergency shelters are clearly marked on Ise City area maps. When traveling within Ise City, please take note of any emergency shelter sites nearest you.
